The Warhol Selfie Project was commissioned by Peterborough Presents, which is an Arts Council funded organisation and part of their Creative People & Places initiative.
Peterborough residents sent in their selfie, which I transformed using Andy Warhol's portrait series as a starting point. These were then projected in the window of an empty retail unit in the city centre during the Peterborough Arts Festival 2015. The motivation for the Warhol inspiration came from a desire to tie in to an exhibition at the City Gallery of Warhol's work by Tate touring, which unfortunately was later cancelled. The project however was excellent in achieving an active dialogue with over 200 residents.
These are selected images from the 200 portraits.
