Lammas: A Harvest of Light

2014

This series distils the essence of Lammas—the festival of first harvest—into luminous, layered imagery. Inspired by the golden abundance of late summer, each piece captures the threshold between ripening and decay, between light and its slow descent into autumn’s embrace. Blurred motion and superimposed textures conjure a sense of cyclical time, where past and present fold into one another like sheaves of grain in the field.

Drawing from an interplay of warm ochres and deep violet hues, these images evoke the richness of sun-drenched petals, the fading glow of long evenings, and the sacred moment of gathering before the turn of the year. Through photographic alchemy, the land’s fertility is transfigured into light itself—an offering, a memory, a fleeting ember of the season’s last warmth.
