Source of The Serpentine, August 2017
Folktales for Hampton was a series of art events and workshops to play with and create stories and folktales for a housing estate, or new township that was marking it's 20th year. Folktales for a new village. This work explored water and geographical features nearby, one of which was the stream called the Serpentine. There is also an special nature reserve nearby, to home 1000's of rare newts that are common in this area, and clearly associate with the name of the water course.  Historical archives, recordings of local stories alongside stories written by children all went into the process.
